EA Mobile brings The Sims 3 to Android

Better late than never right? The Sims 3 launched on the iPhone over a year ago, but EA Mobile just uploaded the popular game to the Android Market where it is currently selling for $4.99. The Sims 3 was previously available on the T-Mobile Vibrant as an exclusive, but this is the first time that anyone can purchase it from the official Market.

EA Mobile just launched Need for Speed in the Market earlier today so that brings their total number of games in Google’s store up to four. We already know they are also bringing Madden NFL

LG “B” images faked, but super slim and super bright phone is coming to CES

Let me get this out of the way first. I’m not saying Rob Jackson of Phandroid faked the images of the LG “B” phone he posted this week, but the folks from LG that sent him the pics did.

LG is working on a new Android phone that has an IPS LCD display similar to the iPhone 4. This new phone will not be announced till next month at CES, but LG wanted to create some online buzz so they leaked some images to Phandroid. As BriefMobile points out, the images are a poor Photoshop job, but it wouldn’t

First Unreal Engine game hits the Android Market this month

Our friends from Trendy Entertainment just informed us that their game Dungeon Defenders: Fist Wave is coming to the Android Market on December 23rd. This is a significant milestone for Android devices because it’s the first time that we have seen a game powered by the Unreal Engine, which many console and PC games are built with.

At first we thought the Unreal Engine might be limited to Android devices with dual-core processors, but later we learned it would be coming to many existing phones. Trendy Entertainment tells us the requirements for their game will…

Gingerbread source code released, let the race to Android 2.3 updates begin

Early this afternoon, Google began pushing the source code for Gingerbread to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This means all the code for Android 2.3 is now public and device manufacturers and carriers can begin to port it to their devices.

During the last round of Android 2.2 updates, Sprint and HTC were the first to deliver a software upgrade when they pushed it out to the EVO nearly six weeks after its release.

Sprint stated in an internal memo that Android updates were a “high priority for competitive reasons”, so we expect they might be the…

Want more 3D games in the Android Market? Go buy Need for Speed Shift

Many of our regular readers will know we have given Gameloft a hard time for keeping their best 3D games off the Android Market, so it’s always nice to report when a big name developer enters Google’s app store. Today EA Mobile published Need for Speed Shift on the Android Market and it’s selling for $4.99.

We prefer buying games from the Android Market because it is easy to transfer your purchases whenever you get a new device. For example, I have purchased 9 games from Gameloft but I can’t get any to work on my new <a…

Hands-on: Google TV Remote

Google recently released their Google TV Remote for Android which works in tandem with your Logitech Revue, Sony Internet TV, or stand alone box. The application was launched with the announcement of an update to Google TV that adds compatibility for the remote app, but the shipping firmware on the Revue works just fine with the app. It’s free in the Market today and is a must have for any Google TV owner.

The remote is a great addition to your phone, and for people that are already on their phone while watching TV, it is a great way to…

HTC starts rolling out Android 2.2 update for the HTC Aria

In an effort to keep their Android handsets up to date, HTC has started pushing out Android 2.2 to the HTC Aria.  While this may sound like good news, those of you with an AT&T branded HTC Aria will most likely be disappointed to hear that this update is currently only available in Southeast Asia.  We’re not entirely sure why U.S. customers have been left in the cold, but there have been rumors floating around that AT&T’s Android update testing process takes quite a bit longer than it should.

Android 2.2 should give the HTC Aria a pretty significant…

Nexus S Torn Apart: Secrets of the Contour Display [Nexus S]

There is none-too-much shocking inside of the Nexus S—the gaping-hole-in-the-middle motherboard is peculiar—but the real reason we wanted to see it splayed apart was to learn the s…
