LG expects to offer at least a one-level upgrade for all Optimus smartphones

How do you know if your brand new Android phone will ever be updated? Google continues to push out a major new version of Android every six months, but there is no way of telling (and no guarantee) that your device will ever receive a newer firmware than what it came with out of the box.

History has shown us that the best selling Android phones are the most likely to get software updates while the flops get left behind. But how can a new user predict which models will sell well and thus get updates?

HTC Incredible 2 makes its first appearance in Verizon’s internal system

The HTC Incredible 2 has just been spotted in Verizon’s internal system almost a year to the day after its predecessor. Before you get too excited, assuming you are prone to getting excited about the Incredible 2, keep in mind that the original Incredible didn’t launch for a little over two months after it made its first appearance in a similar screenshot.

It’s a safe bet that the Incredible 2 will at least borrow quite a bit from the already announced Incredible S, but whether it is in fact a carbon copy remains to…

Android users could log a connection with a specifically crafted tweet, by sending an email, or by entering the meeting manually on the Hashable website. Starting today, you can log interactions with a beautifully styled native Android app.

Beluga, a cross-platform chat application with style

I guess I should start the review by disclosing that I’ve never even seen BBM. As many of you know, BBM is short for BlackBerry Messenger. It’s supposedly one of the best features BlackBerry offers. I know this not because anyone I know actually owns a BlackBerry, but because of all the comments I see online from ex-BlackBerry users. It seems to be the one feature they actually miss.

It also seems to be the one feature developers seem interested in building on, as we’ve seen a total outbreak of Android apps claiming to be “like BBM for iPhone and
