Samsung Droid Charge might be released this Tuesday (Updated: Further delayed)
Verizon has been advertising their 4G LTE network to be the largest in the world, as well as the fastest in America, and the recent 4G LTE outage caused great disappointment among their customers. Aside from all the commotion, though, what really bugged some people was the fact that the Samsung Droid Charge was delayed. This device was supposed to be released along with the HTC Droid Incredible 2 and the Casio G’zOne Commando last Thursday, April 28, but Verizon’s second 4G LTE smartphone didn’t make it to the fantastic trio.

On the verge of real Android fragmentation
Of the many things that get said about Android in an derogatory tone, my least favorite is that of “fragmentation”. The biggest reason for my distaste of the subject is typically the extra junk that gets lumped in, causing even the most rational of conversations to tailspin into a fanboy fight. It’s a subject that is neither clearly defined, nor is there a platform right now that does not also suffer from fragmentation to some extent. The truth of the matter is that Android takes more heat regarding fragmentation due to the volume of handsets that are running the OS….

Thunderbolt update ready, OTA rolling out soon
Though the HTC Thunderbolt is a great device, we know that you may still have some grudges about Verizon’s 4G outage this week. If you need something to improve your mood, you will be happy to know that Verizon is ready to push out a software update for the HTC Thunderbolt.
This update was actually leaked through a rom last week, which led us to believe that this was coming soon, but with Verizon posting a pdf file on their website, things are now starting to look good. As you can see, the first improvement is…
HBO GO now available, stream away!
If you recall, last week we reported that HBO would release HBO GO for Android, iOS, and laptops, and if you have been waiting for this new service, today is your lucky day. HBO GO is now available in the Android Market and the service is free of charge for HBO subscribers (As Sean mentioned, you can’t purchase the service standalone). There are exceptions though, this service needs at least a 3G connection, and it is only available for U.S. customers subscribed to participating T.V. Providers (AT&T U-Verse, Comcast, Cox, DIRECTV, Suddenlink, Charter, DISH, and Verizon FIOS).

HTC to release an NFC-capable device “slightly above” the HTC Sensation
Though still making its first baby steps, NFC (Near Field Communications) has great potential. As we see more phones featuring NFC, the way we deal with daily matters (like transactions) will change as well. Currently, the only Android device with an NFC chip is the Samsung Nexus S, and though we wish many of the phones coming out would sport NFC, that just isn’t the case today, but HTC is coming to the rescue!
Bright Side of News has reported that at a recent press event an unnamed HTC Sales Manager stated that HTC is planning to bring an…
Tune It Up Yourself with Bike Repair [Video]
I love my single-track bike in large part for its nominal maintenance requirements—there’re only so many parts that can actually break—but it’s still a good idea to know what exa…
Motorola dishes on the Droid Bionic delay and Xoom 4G update
A little over a week ago we caught wind of the possibility that the Droid Bionic may be canceled which quickly gave way to the more palatable rumor that it was merely delayed with an eye to improve some of the specs. Motorola’s line was that based on feedback since CES they were going to be “incorporating several enhancements to make this (the Bionic) an even better consumer experience.”
Our friends at Droid Life listened to the Motorola earnings call yesterday afternoon and while Sanjay Jha didn’t reveal any specifics regarding what upgrades the Bionic we…
